Overcome by Never Giving In

September 17, 2010

I did NOT want to write tonight. The day was long and I had dealt with enough already. Top that with three children that were still awake when I got home and all I wanted to do was climb into bed myself. But I had to write.

Moving forward when times are tough or just tiring can seem like an impossible task. It would be easier to just say “not tonight” and move on. But procrastination can rob you blind and missing the chance today may lead to even larger misses tomorrow.

The words were as much for me as they were for finishing the assignment. I need to be reminded daily that I have the choice to give in or go one. To find my path to success I must always choose to never, never, never give in.

“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never–in nothing, great or small, large or petty–never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
- Winston Churchill
